A Dream to Preserve Nepal's Aviation Legacy

Aviation Museum Nepal is a unique institution — Nepal's first museum dedicated entirely to aviation history, education, and inspiration. Housed inside a decommissioned Airbus A330, the museum offers a one-of-a-kind experience in South Asia.

Our collection spans the entire history of Nepali aviation — from the country's first ever flight in 1949 to the modern jet age — through authentic artefacts, photographs, documents and immersive exhibits.

Mission

To preserve and celebrate Nepal's aviation heritage while inspiring future generations through education and hands-on experiences.

Vision

To become South Asia's premier aviation education center and a model for STEM inspiration across Nepal's schools and communities.

Captain Bed Upreti — The Man Behind the Dream

Captain Bed Upreti, an experienced commercial pilot with decades of aviation experience, founded Aviation Museum Nepal with a singular vision: to give Nepali youth direct, inspiring access to the world of aviation.

Having flown across the world and witnessed first-hand the transformative power of aviation, Captain Upreti recognised that Nepal — with its strategic Himalayan location — had a rich and often untold aviation story worth celebrating.

In 2019, he converted a retired Airbus A330 into an interactive museum, creating an experience unlike any other in South Asia. Under his leadership, the museum has welcomed thousands of visitors and become a beloved educational institution in Kathmandu.

"Every child who visits this museum leaves with a dream. That is the greatest reward — to see Nepal's next generation look up at the sky and imagine their future."
